Elastodeck S is a single component acrylic water based protective coating with excellent resistance to aggressive environments. It is available in a range of colours.

USES & ADVANTAGES
Use to protect reinforced concrete structures from attack by atmospheric gases, chloride ions, sulphates, oxygen and water. It may be used on new or existing concrete and masonry structures and is specially suitable in aggressive marine and coastal environments.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be sound, dry & clean with no contamination. Remove oil, grease, loose particles, moss, algae, surface laitance and any remaining traces of mould oil or curing compounds. The surface may be achieved by lightly grit or water blasting. If water blasting the surface must be dry before application. Where mosses or algae were present the surface should be cleaned with a biocide after cleaning. Before over coating of existing coatings undertake bond tests both existing coating to concrete & Elastodeck S to old coating. All blow holes or minor surface defects should be made good using Conpatch 300 honey combs should be300, repaired with Conpatch 600 Repair materials should dry600. for at least 48 hours depending on climatic conditions before application.

APPLICATION

All areas to be protected should be masked with masking tape. Do not apply if the temperature is less than 2oC. The primer should be applied by knapsack spray at 0.4 litres/m2 in one or two coats and left to dry for at least 2 hours at 20oC before the application of Elastodeck S. Do not apply Elastodeck S until the primer is dry. Apply Elastodeck S by brush, roller or spray. Stir the material thoroughly before use, the first coat should be applied using suitable equipment to achieve a uniform coating with a wet film thickness not less than 300 microns. The first coat should dry before applying the second. Apply the second coat as above to achieve a wet film thickness not less than 300 microns.

Store in cool, dry conditions away from sources of heat & flames in the original packaging. If stored at high temperatures or humidity the shelf life may be reduced.

Elastodeck S and primer should be applied with adequate ventilation avoid inhalation of vapours. Wear suitable protective clothing, glasses & eye protection. In confined areas use suitable respiratory protective equipment.If swallowed do NOT induce vomiting - give a glass of water. If in eyes, hold eyes open, flush with water for at least 15 minutes.

Elastodeck S is non-flammable. Elastodeck S Primer is flammable, keep away from sources of ignition. No smoking, in the event of fire, extinguish with CO2 or foam.
